meet molly

Genre: Realistic fiction
Book: Meet Molly
Author: Valerie Tripp

Meet Molly is an amazing book during world war 2. Molly, her two brothers, one sister and her mom are at home without their dad. He's in the war so things are a little tough. But things get worse for Molly when a girl from England her age comes to live with Molly. She hates having Mrs. Gilford make disgusting food, her dad going away, then a little girl coming from England!!! She learns that change and sacrifice all are ways that happen during world war 2.

I only like this book a little bit because it could have had more action. I actually don't recommend this book.

meet julie

Genre: Realistic fiction
Book: Meet julie
Author: Megan McDonald

Meet Julie is a very great book, it shows great determination. When Julie, her mom, and her hair freak sister moves away from her dad, school and her best friend she's not so happy. But when she finds out that there is a school basketball team she is very happy. She loves loves loves basketball more than anything. But when she can't join because no girls allowed she gets mad so when she discovers what a petition is, she starts one of her own. When that costs her best friend's afternoon with Julie, julie doesn't have a best friend anymore. So when her sister asks what's wrong it all comes out like this: "My principal is strict, my teacher is mean, no girls allowed on the school basketball team, and it cost me my best friend." Read Meet Julie to find out whether she goes on the basketball team or not, gets her best friend, or ever is happy again.

I love this because Julie has great character and determination. She finds out a lot of lessons in life in this book. At the back of the book it has a lot of great details. I recommend this book very much and I hope you would recommend it too.

meet kit american girl book

Book: Meet Kit
Genre: Realistic Fiction
Author: Valerie Tripp

Meet Kit is a realistic fiction book, where a little girl named Kit and her family struggle during the Great Depression. Kit LOVES to make "newspapers" for her dad every day when he comes home from work. One of her reports has shocking news that Kit's dad doesn't want to hear. She doesn't know why at first, until Kit's older brother Charlie tells her that "dad lost his job". On the other hand the shocking news is somebody is coming to live with Kit's family. At first Kit is really excited about a BOY (Sterling) coming to live with them (she's a tomboy), somebody to help build a tree house, play catch and read robin hood with. When Sterling and his mother come she finds out Sterling can barely even stand up he's so sick. First her dad losing his job, then a weak boy and his mother to come live with them what could get worse? Well things do get worse- she has to move out of her room and go into the stuffy attic. Join Kit to find out changes can be good. This book is an early reader book so no worries trying to FIND an early reader book.

I enjoyed this book and only sort of recommend it, but it's not that long so if you don't want a short story don't read it. But if you do the average time is about 30 minutes. It is also very informational it tells a lot about when Kit was living, yeah SHE'S fiction but the setting and what HAPPENED to her dad and all is real.
